Terry Richardson’s sexually predatory and abusive behaviour towards his models has been well documented over the years, but it has taken the Weinstein scandal to hurt his professional profile. Conde Nast International, who count amongst their titles Vogue, Tatler, and Glamour, finally put out a company wide order to terminate any contracts with the photographer that had been commissioned or were in progress due to historical sexual harassment claims. Richardson’s January 2018 Elle cover which had been completed is now being reshot by another photographer.
Rumours of sexual misconduct have circulated around the photographer for years. Richardson has never denied his behaviour, although he has stated that any participation was consensual. His photographic style brought 1970’s porn aesthetic into mainstream fashion photography.
