Deadline extended to Monday 10th December.
Artists are invited to submit works for the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize 2019.
Now open for entries, the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize welcomes outstanding creative examples of representational painting from both amateur and professional artists in the UK. Created in 2005 by The Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers and The Lynn Foundation, the open competition continues to champion the skill of draughtsmanship and figurative painting. The exhibition aims to reflect the breadth of approaches and materials from across the artistic spectrum.
Now in its fourteenth year, the Prize is one of the most prestigious awards for artists in the country. We are delighted to announce that the Prizes now total £35,000, a £5000 increase from preceding iterations of the exhibition. The total fund includes a First Prize of £20,000; Second Prize of £4,000; the Young Artist Award of £4,000; and the Daphne Todd Prize of £2,000. The competition also offers the Brian Botting Prize of £5,000 which will be awarded to an artist aged 30 or under for an outstanding representation of the human figure.
An expert panel comprised of leading figures from the art world will judge this year’s submissions. The 2019 panel includes Sam Wadsworth, Artist, and Andrew Wilton, Honorary Curator, Prints and Drawings, Royal Academy of Arts. The competition is open to all UK based artists over 18. Artists are invited to submit up to four works online. Entry is £15 per work (£8 per work for students). Approximately 100 works will be selected for an exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London, opening in March 2019.
Deadline for entry: 5pm, Monday 3 December 2018
