It has been announced Kate MacGarry now represents Rana Begum. One of the most exciting artists working today, Begum’s work is characterized by the interplay of dense, industrial materials and the impression of weightlessness. This year has been busy for Begum, her brightly coloured constructions won her the prestigious Abraaj prize, Art Dubai 2017, while she exhibited her first museum show at the Sainsbury Centre in Norwich Space, Light, Colour, and curated Occasional Geometries at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, as well as public commissions in the UK and Sweden and residencies in Italy and the Philippines.
Begum’s forthcoming exhibitions include: Actions, Kettle’s Yard, 2018. Begum joins an impressive roster of artists at Kate MacGarry including Francis Upritchard, Renee So and Marcus Coates.
