Tomma Abts interview. Want to know more about the Serpentine Galleries‘ summer show? Here Tomma Abts is interviewed by the curator, Lizzie Carey-Thomas, about Abt’s show at the Serpentine Sackler Gallery until 9 September. Tomma Abts won the Turner Prize in 2006, and this is her first UK solo show. It’s the largest selection of work she’s exhibited. Check out and subscribe to the Serpentine’s YouTube channel for up to date news and information from the gallery.
Abts is known for her acrylic and oil paintings whose extraordinary magnetism belies their modest scale. Whilst known for working within a self-imposed size format of 48cm x 38cm canvas, this exhibition also features some works on other materials and in other formats.
